At the beginning of the year, Giant Eagle launched a challenge to schools in the Washington D.C., Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia areas to help in the fight hunger. Each school registered in the A+ School Rewards Program at Giant Eagle was asked to choose a local, registered not-for-profit food bank, soup kitchen or food pantry, and to conduct a food drive at their school. Students and teachers collected non-perishable foods and were asked to use the canned and boxed goods to create a unique display in their school. The more creative the better!

Photos of the Fighting Hunger Displays will be reviewed and six winners will receive $1,000 to add to their accumulated A+ School Rewards. You can check out the winning submissions on the Giant Eagle A+ School Rewards website in March. Good luck to all of those who participated! All of your hard work is another great step in the fight to end hunger in your communities.
