At the beginning of the year, Giant Eagle launched a challenge to schools in the Washington D.C., Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia areas to help in the fight hunger. Each school registered in the A+ School Rewards Program at Giant Eagle was asked to choose a local, registered not-for-profit food bank, soup kitchen or food pantry, and to conduct a food drive at their school. Students and teachers collected non-perishable foods and were asked to use the canned and boxed goods to create a unique display in their school. The more creative the better!
Photos of the Fighting Hunger Displays will be reviewed and six winners will receive $1,000 to add to their accumulated A+ School Rewards. You can check out the winning submissions on the Giant Eagle A+ School Rewards website in March. Good luck to all of those who participated!
