Building stronger communities by engaging students and community groups in local experiences is a significant goal of Field Trip Factory. Pick ‘n Save, one of our partners who delivers memorable field trips at its stores, is also connecting with and building a stronger community in Milwaukee County. “Hunger is not only a problem of poverty; it is a problem of access to food. We want to be a part of the solution,” said Jess Terry, Group Vice President – Chief Human Resource Officer and Hunger Task Force Board Member.
One piece of the solution that Jess Terry is referring to is the Pick ‘n Save Mobile Market, a grocery store on wheels traveling to neighborhoods that don’t have easy access to grocery stores and fresh foods. In partnership with Hunger Task Force and Milwaukee County, the Mobile Market sells only fresh foods, stocking seasonal fruits and vegetables and high demand meat and dairy items. You’ll find such items as Wisconsin grown produce, milk by the gallon, butter, yogurt, ground beef, pork sausage, ham and chicken. Plenty of healthy food options are available with prices similar to what you would find in the store.
